The round table devoted to digital technologies and prospects for the development of innovations in the mining industry, was held within the 11th Russian-German raw materials conference. The event took place from 6 to 8 November in Potsdam under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Brandenburg, Dr. Dietmar Woidke, and became an important platform for discussion in order to initiate bilateral cooperation projects between countries.
The round table brought together scientists and experts which tried to determine the possibility of digitization in the mining sector. Participants discussed the use of innovative technologies in practice and shared their experience in the field of digital solutions in the industry. The list of participants included such experts as Dietrich Möller, Vice President of Siemens Russia, Igor Kharitonov, Deputy Technical Director of JSC SUEK-Kuzbass, and others.

The VIST Group report on the topic “Automation of open mining operations: the experience of digital transformation” aroused great interest and lively discussion among the participants. The German side marked the highest level of the company's development in the field of digitalization of mining enterprises.
Based on the results of the event, a decision was made on the annual participation of the VIST Group in the forum, the next of which will be held in 2019 in Irkutsk.
